$10.6 Billion is to be cut from federal education for the 2018 budget. Eliminating over 20 programs like teacher training, after-school programs, Perkins loans, work-study programs, and more. As a substitute teacher, I see firsthand how not having enough resources is affecting both kids and teachers. As a student, I struggle to stay afloat with the rising cost of education and as a father, I worry about my daughter's education and future. To show the effects that these budget cuts would have on students, I created a small classroom with 1 school desk in the middle and a couple of textbooks all painted an off-white color to show the bleakness and lifelessness in the future of public schools.
